Rivers seeks new town foreman after resignation
Jeff Worth, town foreman for Rivers, resigned after a second impaired driving charge. He faces a Brandon court appearance on Oct. 7 with potential jail and licence penalties. Mayor Roy Stevenson announced the resignation effective Oct. 25 1996 and new applicants will be sought. Worth declined further comment.

Terry Fox Run Sets New Participation Record in Rivers
The 16th annual Terry Fox Run in Rivers on Sunday September 22 drew 70 participants raising nearly 2500 with notable gifts from Rivers ACT and Rivers Legion. Brenda Porter credits early pledge forms and wide advertising for the surge while noting a 10 kilometre route and active support from local groups. In Rapid City 47 runners generated 1240 dollars up almost double last year with Lions Club and Valleyview seniors contributing refreshments and prize trophies.
