Unique fireplace and gate sign mark Smokey Acres residence
Jeff Dickson repaired his stone fireplace toppled during relocation from the sergeants mess at a former nearby air base. The 42 000 pound unit was moved by crane to 531 Ninth Avenue Rivers and set on two feet of cement before stonemason Charlie Pulver restored it. A skylike Smokey Acres sign crowns a derrick originally used by Maurice Dickson for M&M Drilling, now bearing the Smokey Acres name along Hwy 250.
