Legion Ladies Auxiliary Convened October Meeting

Legion Ladies Auxiliary met October 1 with 26 members. A new bylaw and booklet were circulated, 24 copies ordered. Fund-raiser Tupperware discussed. Book Women of the War Years launches October 7 in Gladstone. Catering denied for Lions anniversary October 28 and for Dyck anniversary October 14.Wedding planned December 29 for Rachel Lines with 125 guests. Remembrance Day bingo shift debated. luncheon price kept at 3 and 2 dollars. Penny raffle tickets set at 10 for 1 dollar. expenses approved for deacon bench. Members to sell tickets and help at various booths. rubber kitchen mats approved.

Schedule changes in recreation programs this fall

The recreation office announces updated dates for power skating from Oct 16 to Oct 27 with two sessions, craft workshop in Rapid City on Oct 18 from 6:30 to 10 pm, indoor soccer planned to start Oct 15, and gymnastics in Rivers beginning Oct 12 with only 10 spaces. Babysitting class registrations closed. Santa porcelain workshop in Rivers on Nov 4 accepts registrations until Oct 20. Nonrefundable after registration to cover instructors and rentals.
