Planting Spring Bulbs for a Bright Early Show
Fall is prime time to plant spring flowering bulbs for a strong root system and vernal bloom. Choose large healthy bulbs, plant 3–4 times bulb width deep in well drained weed free soil, amend with organic matter, fertilize, water well, and mulch. Group bulbs by type for impact, plan ahead for a long prairie spring with early mid and late varieties.
