The number of Manitobans drawing unemployment insurance continues to decline with 22 790 UIC beneficiaries in July, a 20.4 percent drop from a year earlier. Rural areas see up to 13 percent summer declines and Brandon region totals reach 980. Nationwide 889 thousand jobless workers drew one billion dollars in UIC benefits, the lowest since the 1990 recession.
