Oak River United Church Women Meet With Eight Attendees

The Oak River United Church Women held a Nov 2 meeting with eight members. Devotional time covered Shanti Solomon founder of Fellowship of the Least Coin and current projects. Donations supported Acres of Hope Samaritan House Native Healing Fund World Development St Andrews College NACC Prairie Spirit building fund and church board. Annual meeting set for Jan 11 at 1 30 p.m.

Health fair a huge success in Rivers

A first time Health and Wellness fair at the Legion Hall in Rivers drew 212 sign-ins plus unseen attendees. Nurses offered about 200 flu shots while cholesterol and blood sugar tests drew long lines. Local groups Medichair, Diabetes Association, and Addiction Foundation displayed. Constable Soltys promoted home and vehicle safety. Prizes included millennium coins from Taylor's Home Hardware and gloves from Comfort Designs.
