Rivers civic events list a Council meeting at the Colleging library at 7 p.m. March 13 15 and a senior bonspiel at the Curling Club with contact numbers 328 7718 and 328 7777 for details.
Rivers Legion Week featured a barbecue supper in the clubroom to raise funds for a community cause. Proceeds, though not for the Legion, were donated to Rivers Handi transit. Shirley Kamula awards $1,000 to Handi transit chairman John Russell at the Remembrance Day luncheon.
Royal Canadian Legion Branch No 118 mark the 60th anniversary of Kenton Memorial Hall with a Remembrance Day service led by ministers Rediker Hodson and speaker Rev John Wiebe. CrossRoads Church held a service the next day with speakers Houston and Derek Miller. A potluck lunch and 60th cake followed. Woodworth Senior Services hosted a roast beef dinner with local band music and seniors dancing enjoyed. Norma Hunter Ken Hunter Nora Crampain visit and recoveries noted.
