Remembrance Day Service At Kenton Memorial Hall

On a snowy morning Kenton gathered to honor veterans with a Remembrance Day service at Kenton Memorial Hall. Eileen Kent opened with Canada, Marianne Whyte led the call to remember, poppies were placed on a cross, and Jack Houston read the honour roll as Last Post and Reveille sounded. Wreaths were laid by local officials and groups including Mike Ramsden, Bob Good, Blair Fordyce, a Canadian Armed Forces member, Jayden Hemrica, and Marilyn Brazeau. Special speaker Cole Ramsey was snowbound in Winnipeg, Jack spoke, Foster Tolton represented the youth, and Kenton Community Choir with Eileen sang Let There Be Peace on Earth. Marianne led prayer before The Lord's Prayer, concluding with God Our Help in Ages Past. About 90 attended a luncheon. Douglas Caldwell played the bagpipes, and students contributed via a poster contest displayed in the hall. May we not forget the cost of freedom.
