Comets celebrate Sud and Spud awards with team honors
Rivers Comets Baseball Club held its first Sud and Spud awards on November 3 at Houstons in Brandon with over 150 attendees. Ryan Shaw won top pitcher for a 1.04 ERA and 42 strikeouts, Michael McFadden took top hitter and MVP, Chris Hillis was most improved, and Donna Falkevitch won 50/50 prize while Karen Gerrard, Eleanor Madden, and Hank Lemoine received prizes. The club also announced a $2,000 Rivers & Area Community Foundation grant for field upgrades and reopened the team store through November 17.
