South West Farm Women’s Tour Highlights Local Shops
The annual South West Farm Women’s Tour opened October 23 at Riverdale Community Centre with a fashion show by Alice Fast and Shelley Foster featuring Canadian made pieces from Super Thrifty Pharmacy. Visitors shopped at Rivers vendors including the Mann family honey, beeswax and gift baskets, and Eleanor Beever’s pottery with a home-made barrel kiln. The tour also stopped at Virden Art Gallery and concluded with Supper and remarks by Tanis Chalmers on supporting independent local stores and the 3/50 project to boost community revenue.
