Riverdale Auxiliary Teas And Fundraisers Highlight Volunteer Spirit

Riverdale District Health Auxiliary held a May 22 meeting with 16 members. They updated bylaws, welcomed Pat Hillier as palliative care co-ordinator, and noted mileage payments rose to 34 cents per kilometre. The group organized raffles, bake and plant tables, and a Christmas themed fund-raiser, raising funds for Riverdale Hospital Fund and noting extensive volunteer hours in April.

Daly council hears budget gaps and tax hike plans

About 20 ratepayers attend a Daly hearing on the 2002 03 budget. The town overspent by nearly 11650 last year as assessments rose to 22585740 from 19162140. The council budgets more taxes grants and transfers from reserves to fund road work hospitals and community projects while pledging limited future support to golf and more to curling and the CDC loans program.
