Recollections of Rivers rail era from Tivy’s youth

Bob Tivy recalls Rivers Manitoba as a railway town from 1908 to 1912 with Grand Trunk Pacific and later CN shops. He describes the big bridge, roundhouse, water tank, and 10 track yard, the CN police man, shop foremen, machinists, hostlers, and fuel and water supply. The piece notes shifts of shops to Transcona, population decline, and railway ties to hockey through players and jerseys.
