Cliff and Beryle Burt celebrate 70 years in Rivers Manitoba
The Burt couple marked their 70th wedding anniversary with a March 18 1942 marriage in Winnipeg and a Rivers Legion Hall event on April 28 attended by 165 guests. Queen Elizabeth sent a congratulatory note along with other dignitaries. They raised a family on a mixed farm in Daly and later settled in Rivers, supported by community work and church activity. A Century Farm award was posthumously presented to Doug Burt, with donations to Prairie Crocus Regional Library.
