Donations honor Rivers curling legacy in public fund drive
Rivers Recreation Facilities Review Committee hosted a Leave a Legacy evening at Chris's Café on March 10 raising funds for a new arena. Donors Mary Taylor and family gave 25000 for a curling dressing room while Ray Redfern and family donated 30000 for upstairs development and infrastructure. The Veenbaas and Veitch families contributed 12000 in memory of their mother Loreen Veenbaas, with other gifts from Heritage Co-op and Valleyview Sno-Riders. The campaign notes naming rights sold for two curling dressing rooms and a viewing lounge, with remaining opportunities listed.
