Two-Vehicle Collision in Rivers Under Investigation
At 3 45 p.m. Monday February 27 Rivers Police and emergency crews responded to a two vehicle crash at Second Avenue and Main Street. A 2003 GMC Envoy eastbound on Second Avenue collided with a 2016 Hyundai Elantra that ran a stop sign. Both drivers sustained upper body injuries, with Driver No 2 transported to Brandon Hospital as a precaution. Police are investigating. seat belt use confirmed and charges pending, with imprudent driving likely. Vehicle damage extensive on both vehicles.
