Rivers Hosts Rural Week Students In Rivers Manitoba
Two Manitoba medical students Britt Slojak from Oakbank and Paige Van Der Zweep of Portage la Prairie stayed at the home and away lodge in Rivers. They shadowed doctors at the Rivers medical clinic and interacted with patients while enjoying local activities including a fishing trip, a hunting outing, and a tour of Deerborne Colony. The week ended with a walk with a Riverdale Health Centre doctor as Slovak praised the welcoming community and noted the value of early patient interaction for first year students.
