Library celebration marks Royal Bank donation and new furniture

Leanne English accepts a plaque from librarian Dora Irvine and library board chair Sheila Smith on behalf of the Royal Bank for funds that built the Prairie Crocus Regional Library in Rivers. Irvine thanks volunteers and cites husband Jim and Bonnie Noott. Lions Village opened jointly with the library in a brief ceremony.

Kenton Civic Events Highlight Local Fundraisers and Plans

Kenton reports a town wide yard sale by the Kenton District and Business Association with about 15 sales including a United Church bake sale that raised 400 dollars. The Kenton Museum sold raffle tickets with prizes won by George Inglis Shelly Merke Gloria Smith Gert Routledge Bob Jay Elsie Wedgewood. A Legion clubroom barbecue drew 56 attendees. A Legion golf tournament is planned for June 16 at Oaklake. The RM of Woodworth met May 8 to plan a grand opening for Aug 1 with Evelyn Butler Howard Norek Kim Carter organizing. Legislative notes set animal units at 300 AU for conditional use, up from 250. Walter’s wisdom ends the list.
