Harrow Centre Picnic Brings Community Together
Lois Alen reports the Harrow Community Centre hosted its annual picnic on June 30 with near perfect weather. Children played baseball and races while families enjoyed sandwiches, cakes, hot dogs, and a fish pond. Acknowledgments were given to Alvin and Collette Lepp and Redline Transport for the centre sign and to the organizers for a well run day.

Rivers Fair Day Highlights Mills Cattle Horses And Hospitality
Exhibits showed lower entries in baking produce grasses and cattle while Pearl Sutcliffe and Lillian Gunn topped sewing and handicraft. Susan Brown won the quilt contest and will advance to district competition as Brenda Froese notes a record horse show with 13 heavy horses and dual four horse hitches. Proceeds from a beef barbecue support the ag society and band parents. rivers fireworks display cost 2200 funded by the town and donations.
