Ducks Race Disrupted by Thunder Shower Crowds Gathered
A sudden thunder shower hit the Rivers area as a shotgun start at 2 p.m. dispersed about 65 spectators from Rivers and Area Lions Club park. The third annual Great Duck Race raised funds totaling $500 for Lorraine Kasprick, $300 for Jim Matthews, and $200 for Tempe Place Emporium. Proceeds fund maintenance of Rivers Game and Fish dock and parking, and sponsor two Manitoba Recreational Fishing League youth teams.
