Local Baseball Manitoba Award Winner Payton McNish
Payton McNish won Female Player of the Year at Baseball Manitoba awards announced in late October 2021. The Rivers Gomets minor leaguer, age 15, pitches and plays first and third, named by coach Ryan Lamb. She also stars in hockey and other school sports, with stats highlighting a .373 batting average and 13 stolen bases across 17 games, plus a 4-1 pitching record and 67 strikeouts in 27 innings.
