Novel Louis Riel Day ice fishing event for youth
Twenty four youngsters and chaperones joined Rivers and Area Game and Fish Association on Lake Wahtopanah for ice fishing. Logan Hall briefly left to warm up and Bonnie Heudebourck caught a two foot northern pike. Ron Taylor filleted the catch for Logan and Bonnie, then all received gear and a measuring tape before barbecued hot dogs and cookies at noon. The event aimed to promote healthy outdoor winter sport and holiday activities.
