Rapid City fish derby draws families amid light catches
The 12th annual family fishing derby at Valleyview Golf Club saw 158 participants on a chilly February Saturday. Winners included Sawyer Puhach in the kids division and Laura Flett of Winnipeg in the adult division with modest two-fish catches and several local sponsors contributing prizes and a $620 Heart and Stroke donation. Participants traveled from Winnipeg and several Manitoba towns, while the event emphasizes nonprofit giving and community support.
