Family curling bonspiel and community recreation schedule

Recreation notes invite families to participate in events. Curling bonspiel runs Feb 23 in Rivers and Mar 2 in Rapid City with two adults and two youth per team and potluck supper. Also clay handbuilding course in Rivers starting Mar 3 for grades 7-9, plus free Thursday volleyball in Rapid City, mixed youth soccer interest in Rivers, and a computer for sale with Feb 21 deadline.

Council Notes Feb 11 Tender Approvals and Budget Adjustments

The RM accepted F Kozak & Sons tender for crushing 15 000 yards of gravel at 1.60 per yard and P E Zachary for hauling gravel. Office to close Mar 19 for mayor reeve meeting in Birtle. Ambulance grant application to be split Rivers Minnedosa. Taxes in arrears auction set for Jun 26 at 2 pm. Finances show 7 627.48 transferred to cover 1996 deficit. 1997 vet levy corrected to 1 772.40. Interim operating budget amended for 25 110 plus GST capital purchase. Membership with Manitoba Municipal Administrators Association renewed at 95. General accounts paid 13 424.93 and 17 021.89 approved. Next meeting Mar 11 at 9 am.
