Fires and anniversaries dot Rivers local history
A 1945 Main Street fire claimed 14 month old Gail Cunningham's life at the base hospital. Over the years Rivers noted sales, retirements, and civic events including a 1965 UGG gold watch award, a 1975 Elton Collegiate addition grant, and youth orchestra selection in 1965.
