Farmers Co op enters specialty canola market
At the annual meeting nearly 60 shareholders heard of new initiatives. Farmers Co op secured exclusive western Canada and five northern U.S. state rights to Beacon canola and Exchequer peas from Svalof Weibull. The firm created Farmers Choice Seeds for wholesale marketing and pursues ISO 9002 registration with KPMG approval. Pulse coat pea seed coating with polymers fungicides and rhizobia boosts seed protection and shelf life. Management expects strong growth and new business opportunities ahead.
