Why Catholic and Protestant Bibles differ in canon

The article explains how the Hebrew, Greek Septuagint, and early Christian usage shaped a 39 book Hebrew canon versus a 46 book Septuagint, with Catholics including Deuterocanon books as sacred while Protestants dropped them in the 16th century. It notes historical citations, church lists, and the 1885 removal of the Apocrypha from the King James Bible. A service at St James Anglican Church marks the 400th anniversary of the King James Version.
