Northams Protect Wetlands Under DUC Conservation Plan
Rapid City area couple Tom and Valerie Northam sign a conservation agreement with DUC to restore eight wetlands over nine acres and permanently protect twenty basins. The program pays up to 1500 per acre for 10 year restorations, with flexibility for haying and grazing during dry periods. The family aims to balance farming with nature while encouraging others to participate. Contact DUC Brandon office 204 729 3500.
