Midwest All-Stars win AAA peewee provincial title in Winnipeg
The Midwest All-Stars from Oak River region swept the Manitoba AAA peewee provincials in Winnipeg finishing 5-0 with wins over North Winnipeg South Central Brandon Parkland Bonivital Black Sox and Winnipeg South Chiefs. Key players included Lemoine Krutkewich Geekie Mervyn Shamray Smith Kuharski and Lamb who recovered from injury to seal the title. The team, coached by Shamray Geekie and Smith, will travel to Nanaimo B C for nationals August 25-28 with local fundraisers planned in Oak River and Neepawa.
