Kiwanians Observe Canada United States Goodwill Week
Kiwanis Club of Rivers marks Goodwill Week April 28 to May 4 to honor 200 years of peaceful relations across the 5,000 mile undefended border. Kiwanis International originated the observance in 1922 and the movement now includes 8,600 clubs with 325,000 members in 77 countries.

Louis Dreyfus Agent Drives Riverdale Grain Launch
Louis Dreyfus operates Rivers elevator under its name with Riverdale Grain licensed and meeting all rules. Kent McNeill and John Buskal run spraying and maintenance as the three employees attend an information session hosted by Louis Dreyfus with local officials. A roast beef meal and seven door prizes including six T shirts and a cooler were part of the two hour event with several local dignitaries present.

Festival of the Arts results and awards overview
The festival announced provincial finals selections for Deanna Wilson Kristin Hamilton Kristen Mayer and Gordon Gerrard in piano and composer classes. Scholarships awarded include RRFA most promising band instrumentalist Curtis Jury most promising solo vocalist and Friends of the Festival Rivers Branch piano winners. Trophy and solo prize winners span piano violin brass woodwind percussion dance speech arts vocal and organ categories with multiple finalists noted.
