Watoto Choir Tour Highlights Ugandan Church Roots
The Watoto story traces Gary and Marilyn Skinner moving to Uganda in 1983 during civil war, founding a Kampala English speaking church on Easter 1984, and building a village system with homes, clinics, and schools. The choir toured Hamiota on a six month plan, sharing a capella performances with host families, amid Uganda’s path to stability under Museveni's 1986 rise.
