Rolling River Festival of the Arts Showcases Youth Talent
Nearly 250 entries were scheduled across six days at the Rolling River Festival of the Arts in Rivers. Among sponsors and participants were 41 entries from Dauphin, Winnipegosis, Ethelbert and Fork River with seven of 15 adjudicated sessions videotaped for local WCG-TV channels. Winners included Mieke Uhryniuk Smith, Kristin and James Corrie, Brian Johnson, Samantha Roche and many others earning vocal, piano, violin, dance and scholarship honors. Provincial finals recommendations were made for Jaydn Burr, Aidan Shamray, Hanna Kristjanson, Shelby Noh and Stefanie Lepp, with Manitoba Arts Festivals slated for Brandon University May 25-27.

Legion meeting notes and upcoming events for Rivers Branch 75
Rivers Branch 75 held its April 9 meeting with 12 members. A District 3 meeting is planned for April 15 at Rivers Upper Hall to discuss zone reorganizations and recommendations. The branch seeks Manitoba Lotteries Corporation license for Friday meat draws in the clubroom. Veterans Affairs Canada will attend Bran don Legion Branch 3 on April 24 at 7 p.m. A joint branch and auxiliary executive meeting is set for April 30. No casualties or injuries reported, morale high.
