Evacuation Ordered as Gas Line Bursts in Rivers
On Friday March 25 the Rivers Daly fire department cordoned a block from 2nd to 4th Avenues and Highway 250 to Columbia Street after a four inch gas line burst during drain maintenance. Manitoba Hydro shut power to the town to prevent ignition while evacuees sheltered at Riverdale Community Centre and power was intermittently restored.
