Easter Dance Directed by Prof Hepburn at Opera House

A large Easter Monday dance, directed by Prof Hepburn, drew about fifty couples to the Opera House. The Independent Band Orchestra provided first class music, and attendees enjoyed themselves immensely. The event concluded with the Home Waltz around 2:80 a.m. Also advertised is a for sale notice for a Bant Eenie for hatching and duck nicks by Mrs Tepnine.

The Council of the Board of Trade met on the evening of the 9th to review Ottawa and Victoria delegations. A motion approved local Government action on the Canoe River trail and urged completion. appropriations requests for Revelstoke were endorsed. membership fee planned to be reduced to 2.50. The Columbia River Improvement Bill was discussed. MP W A Gallier to watch city interests. President G B McCarter and Mayor O'Brien to confer with CPR on a new station south of the line. Meeting adjourned.

New Accounting System On the CPR Decentralizes Accounts

On the first of the month a new specialized accounting system came into force on the CPR. Clerical work shifts from the General Superintendent offices to individual division superintendents. This decentralization will enlarge the clerical staff. Kilpatrick's vice is now responsible for his segment, transmitting records directly to Montreal rather than Vancouver.
