Potash Deposits Found Near Hardy on the C N R
Potash deposits were reported near Hardy on the Canadian Northern Railway following earlier finds at Maple Creek. A promising lake bottom area, about 16 000 acres with a hard smooth surface, has long been known but not exploited until now.

Mourning at French Church for Fallen Soldier Noah
The church draped in black held a service for the deceased young man Noah. Fr Bonny spoke in Frelish and French praising his courage as sisters sang Nearer My God To Thee. Relatives and mourners filled the pews as his mother received words of sympathy from King George, the Queen, and Noah’s comrades. He died after a two hour wound, conscious to the end with his mother’s hand on his lips, and was laid to rest behind a small French church by a stone cross.
