Miss McDonald resumes duties after visiting her parents. A plan to form an auxiliary Grain Growers Association branch for Soda Lake seeks to boost farming through meetings and united action. A Barraclough and Levi Wagner report favorable crops during a Axford district trip.
A large crowd attended the Axford Grain Growers picnic on the 20th at John Burnside’s farm. Visitors from Radville and Soda Lake enjoyed various events led by Dick Sharland who won the greasy hog race and the horse race. W. Munro topped the men over 40 with a victory. The event proved financially successful and Burnside was praised for generous hosting.
The bride wore white and cream and was given away by her father with sister Cora present. Groom's attendant was longtime friend Mr. Rabe Wilson. A small group of friends witnessed the ceremony and offered best wishes. The couple will reside at Ceylon after a brief stay at Regine. The Rev. H. Wilding officiated.
Local and General John Lucas receives Ogilvies flour in 49 and 98 pound sacks along with wheat granules. Advt Sgt McDonald of the Rad detachment of the R N W M P is reassigned to command the Big Muddy detachment.
Edger Austin and his family departed town this week for Edmon ton Alberta where Austin has rented a moving picture theatre. George McDonald returned to town after spending the last two months holidaying at the coast.
