Fire Damages Davis Home North of Weyburn

A Sunday fire at Mr. W. Davis Sr. home north of Weyburn caused extensive damage with one side of the house destroyed. The blaze started when a Ford car driven by J. Fenwick of Radville overheated and ignited, then spread to the residence amid public alarm until firefighters contained it.

Man Claims Right to Horse After Tax Sale

Bryce argues seizure and Bailiff sale of a horse in arrears taxes were illegal and that he must regain possession. Magistrate remands him to Weyburn for trial on October 5 with bail set at 1000 dollars. Bryce pleads his own case. B J Moon prosecutes.

Vancouver August 22 fifty thousand dollars worth of British Columbia silver for coinage purposes has been shipped to China aboard a Japanese liner after being prepared in Victoria This marks the first ever BC silver shipment for such a purpose and highlights Vancouver area financial ties to international coinage programs.
