Spring Salmon Prospects Grow on North Island Waters
Reports from North Island describe 1918 spring salmon as the largest in the area’s history. The season, though starting a month late, shows steady gains with over 400 boats and 50 launches active on Friday. Two Swedish fishers from Queen Charlotte top the totals as the BC Fisheries Company plans 30 000 cases, Grime bringing in 10 tons. Herring runs are uneven but Sandspit notes a large shoal arriving this morning.

Prince John To Sail South To Ikeda Bay During Repairs
Due to the Prince Albert accident, the Prince John will run a reduced southbound schedule to Ikeda Bay from Prince Rupert with Saturday 8 p.m. departures. The vessel will return via Skidegate Inlet maintaining island service until repairs are finished, after which the original schedule resumes.
