Budgets Surplus Fueled Public Works Plans And Tax Outlook
The budget rejects tax increases and rejects tax relief, noting a surplus of over one and a half million on a four and a half million taxation revenue. Most taxation is Commonwealth, limiting state control. A near nine and a half million non taxation revenue yields an overall 14 million total for 1.6 million people. Surplus allocations favor the Public Works Fund, closer settlement, and deflating deficits, with capital for pensions education and railways rising moderately. The government claims prudence despite revenue down and promises value from increased spending.
