Federal Capital Lands Plan Aims at Fair Compensation and Purchases
The government intends to acquire land for federal use without dispossessing current occupants and without forcing Malay owners to sell. Of 574,080 acres, 159,400 are freehold, 271,794 Crown lands are in alienation, with 44 percent of use law measures to Parliament. Land will be bought as required, with compensation to occupants and timing not yet fixed.
