Stoneys Face Indian Attacks While Escorting Horses
The Stoneys traveling with a hunting party faced repeated harassment by Blood Indians south of Morley. After guards protected their horses nightly, five Bloods attempted to force a rider off his horse and opened fire. A Stoney fighter repelled the attack, losing blood but reaching camp at sunset. They later pursued and repelled more assaults while maintaining restraint and seeking peace.
