Glasgow Fellow of Veterinary Surgeons College presents studies at Montreal on diseases of horses and cattle, detailing treatment methods and case observations for veterinary practitioners.

Trustees of the THISTLE Protestant Public School District No. 92 in the Northwest Territories announce a loan of four thousand eight hundred fifty dollars to build a school house and furnish equipment. A poll opens Saturday September 4, 1886, at ten oclock a m and closes four pm the same day at the School section 6, Tow Range 5, west of the second principal Merion. Voters declare eligibility and oath. ballots determine approval of the loan from the public district.
Citizens of South Qu’Appelle welcome Sir John A. Macdonald on his Northwest Railway tour. A. M. McLane presents an address praising the project and anticipating regional growth. Macdonald promises support and notes rail completion will draw population and trade, with thanks to Lady Macdonald.
