Battle of Wondivath 1760 siege ends in French defeat
The January 22 1760 clash near Wondivath pitted Lally and a French Moratta force against Col. Coote’s British and Seapoy army. After heavy artillery and repeated assaults, Col. Coote leveraged a guiding misfire and flank maneuver to drive off the French and Moratta forces, capturing Brigadier General de Buffy and other officers while sustaining few British casualties. The action lasted about six hours with significant losses on both sides.

It argues a magistrate must render to all their due with constant, uniform resolve. The greatest comfort for society is governance under such influence.
