Port News reports August 29 wind southwest. His Majesty's ship Dreadnought arrives with 64 ships under convoy from Jamaica. Merchants ships sail for the river. Dreadnought remains in the Downs with the flotilla, Argo sailed for Sheerness yesterday. Deal August 30 wind northwest. De Carmo Mesfina arrives, bound for Faro, and fore.

Capture of French ships in Chaleur Bay reported

From the London Gazette Admiralty office dated Aug 3 the governor of Louisburg reported French warships and store ships with troops in Chaleur Bay. Captain Byron in the Fame with Repulse and Scarborough engaged and destroyed three frigates the Marchault Bienfaisant and Marquis Morloze along with twenty two schooners sloops and privateers and a large cargo of provisions. Lieutenant Rutherford carries dispatches via New York.
