A period piece letter urges public committees to revamp leases for city lands and housing to prevent decay, arguing for fair bidding and private negotiations, public transparency, and removal of outdated customs. It advocates rebuilding decayed houses, widening streets, and adding ornamental touches, plus a new bridge to rival Westminster.
In the Downs, His Majesty ships Jason Commodore Sir Piercy Brett St George Lion Rippon Hind and Dispatch remain with transports outward bound as before. Vessels include the King of Proffin Darling for Jamaica John and Anne Slade for Poole Catherine Tizard for Weymouth.
