A report from Paris details a court martial presided by Major General Count de Balleroy. Captain Barlet and Captain Bompard of the regiment of Bigorre were tried for surrendering a redoubt at Belleisle without resistance. Barlet was condemned to be beheaded, Bompard to ten years in prison. Both were degraded from arms and nobility. the sentence was carried out in effigy at the castle.
