A vividly worded public letter from an Irish cambrick manufacturer denounces illicit Cambrick trade and urges strong action by the legislature. He warns of ruin to honest makers, pledges to seize and challenge illicit traders, and sets a deadline for compliance or enforcement actions.

Port News Arrivals and Convoys Amid March Seaboard Runs

In Falmouth and Pool aboard, March winds bring sloop Wasp and multiple ships from London and Bristol sailing for Dublin Liverpool and Gibraltar. Outward-bound convoys include Sally Arabella and Crown with numerous named vessels bound for Jamaica Oporto Leghorn and Bilbao. Several ships arrive from Cork Sunderland and Barcelona. A cruizer and alarms mark naval activity as gale winds push ships to sea and others remain on station with convoy.
