Includes assorted dispatches from Hanover Hamburg and Madrid on military and fiscal matters.
Whitehall March 7 announces promotions and offices for high officials. Notable posts include Postmaster General to Renderns, Commander in Chief to Viscount Ligonier, Lieutenant-General of the Ordnance to Marquis Granby, Master of the Ordnance to Charles Frederick, Clerk of the Ordnance to Rawlinson Earle, and Keeper of Ordnance Stores to Andrew Wilkinson. Also listed are Chief Engineer of garrisons to William Skinner, Comptroller of Army Accounts to James Creffet, and several wardens and inspectors related to fire, prosecutions, and stamp duties.
