Trade with France and Dunkirk cited as breach of treaty
The piece argues that French adherence to treaties is unreliable when it suits their interests, citing Dunkirk fortifications and recent naval actions. It notes British concerns over guarantees in peace, mentions Dr Bearcroft's sermon, and details movements of troops, ships, and supplies around Gibraltar, Belleisle, and Portsmouth, with references to ongoing actions in Europe and a looming congress at Augsburg. It also reports American news including a fatal lightning strike and privateer activity, plus various local notices and court matters.
