It describes performers, curiosities, and moral reflections on fame, wealth, and social merit, interwoven with late eighteenth century notices from Europe including princes movements, military promotions, and logistics of ports and ships.
Foreign intelligence from Peterborough and Meifin reports the empress has been severely indisposed with a dangerous distemper but the crisis has passed and there are hopes for recovery. In Schlettau the king of Proffin's army lies encamped with a strong, well-defended ten mile camp, awaiting enemy moves.
A broad update notes Allied forces under colonel Lickner pressing toward Friedberg from Butzbach and Württemberg troops marching and encamped near Wertheim while minor operations remain unsettled. It reports Prussian and Saxon positions near Meissen and Naumbourg, a retreat from Reichenberg, and a coinage decree by the States General. London covers Spain's envoy to York, new deans for Canterbury Winchester and Bristol, and royal plans to grant church prebends and a Windsor canonry. Additional fragments describe Württemberg troops in Franconia, payments and subsistence costs, and ongoing negotiations over Palatine troop hiring at Mannheim.
