General Laudohn assaults Glatz and moves on Landshut

From the London Gazette Breslau June 22 reports General Laudohn with 12,000 volunteers assaulted Glatz on the night of the 17th and 18th. defenders led by Colonel d O repulsed the attack with heavy losses, then Laudohn withdrew to siege mode and advanced toward Landshut to engage General Fouquet.

An extra from a letter dated June 12 reports the Senate’s decisive day of deliberation and rapid dispatches to Scotland Corfu France Vienna and Constantinople amid concerns of a Grand Signior move on Corfu. It also notes the Quebec correspondent detailing public events, military hardships, and high troop morale in a beleaguered garrison. The writer recalls April 28 losses with 66 killed and 160 wounded of 450 in the field, and from 1400 original, about 1200 remain, as officers suffer and plans to rebuild the corps unfold to secure British control.
